Ok, this is the first cool conference (that isn’t MSFT technology only!) that I’ve seen come to a state around the Great Lakes region in some time! I got an email from Josh Holmes this morning telling me to check out CodeMash.
Here’s what their website says the event is all about:
“CodeMash is a unique event that will educate developers on current practices, methodologies and technology trends in variety of platforms and development languages such as Java, .NET, Ruby and PHP. Held January 18-19, 2007 at the lush Kalahari resort (http://www.kalahariresort.com/) in Sandusky, Ohio, attendees will be able to attend a world-class technical conference amid Ohio’s largest indoor waterpark. So nobody will frown if you show up in shorts, sandals, and your loudest t-shirt. You might even win a prize for doing so.”
Ok, I’ll say i NEED to go. Boasting sessions like building Windows Vista Widgets, Intro to AJAX, Being a Productive Programmer, and more I need to go! The conference will have great presenters including Drew Robbins, Greg Huber, Bill Wagner, Josh Holmes and more!
Now I whine a bit and say yes, this is on January 18th and 19th. First problem I will have classes. The second semester will be kicking off about a week prior so the semester will just be getting started. Oh and I’m in college so even though they have a great early-bird rate of $99 for the conference, i’ll need to be getting a hotel too. I don’t currently see a student pricing package. But i’ll see what I can do. This is looking like a great conference that i NEED to be at.
